OUR PODCASTS

OUR PODCASTS

First it was the Pioneer Podcast with Lauren and Miranda. Then, it was the Lauren and Miranda Show. Now, it's the Let Me Know Show featuring Lauren Johnson, Miranda Foster & KaraLee Langford! Listen to our past podcasts as the Pioneer Podcast and the Lauren and Miranda Show as well as new episodes of the Let Me Know Show!

STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM NOW WE'RE HERE.

It all started with Lauren and Miranda creating and editing podcasts for the Oklahoma City Community College Pioneer Student Newspaper as KaraLee was the editor and listened over our created content. We did just podcasts, two episodes per week for the spring semester of 2019. We then branched out to creating video casts or "vlogs" that summer. We were the Lauren and Miranda show for about a month and we didn't feel complete without KaraLee. So here we are now, trying to make a name for ourselves. We have started our own YouTube channel, account on Soundcloud for podcasts, and social media accounts! Follow us on our journey by clicking the follow me button below, or even the side tabs. Thank you for visiting our site!

My Story

MEET THE CREW

You've heard about where we started but now get to know us as individuals!

LAUREN

Well. Here you are reading about us. Thanks for stopping by.

To start it off, I am a college student at the University of Oklahoma. I'm a broadcast journalism major and I'm minoring in Spanish. (wish me luck, I need it)

I've wanted to be a journalist since I was in 8th grade. Growing up, I loved being in front of a camera or had a microphone in my hand. I danced for 15 years of my life and because of that, I am used to being in front of people, doing what I love. Because of this, I realized how much fun broadcast journalism sounded like.

I took my first journalism class at Oklahoma City Community College with M.Scott Carter as my professor and I knew I was where I was meant to be. (Thank you Scott for being the best professor I've ever had and believing in me when I didn't believe in myself.) Professor M. Scott Carter talked me into doing a podcast with someone I barely knew (A.K.A. Miranda) for a newspaper. I also met KaraLee in that newsroom. He's the reason I am here today. So basically what I'm saying is that M. Scott Carter is the reason the Let Me Know Show exists. Without him, us three would have never met and trust me, I don't know what I would do without Miranda and KaraLee at OU with me. I would be probably just be the weird transfer student, haha. After a year at OCCC, I transferred to the University of Oklahoma and I have never loved journalism more.

But enough about school and how I got here and more about me. I am 19 years old and there's not a lot about me. I love whales, giraffes and dogs. I bleed crimson and cream. I feel like I am constantly either working or studying and doing homework. When I'm not doing that, I hang out with my boyfriend and our dog and I also play nerts (the card game) with my best friend/roomie. (I know I'm weird and cringy, get over it.)

And that's me.

Hey guys! I am 20-year-old, Broadcast Journalism student Miranda Vondale. I’ve always had a love for writing and being in front of the camera since I was 6, so it seems super fitting to me that everything fell into place for me to be where I am today. I was originally going to school to be a Registered Veterinary Technician, but after not making it into the program, I fell back to my original plan which was Broadcast Journalism! This career choice seems so perfect to me, and after working 2 full semesters at The Pioneer, I know I am where I belong. Growing up I never seemed to fit in with those around me, but The Pioneer showed me that I’m exactly who and where I need to be in this season of my life. It was because of OCCC that I met Lauren, and because of The Pioneer that I met KaraLee. The puzzle pieces kind of fell into place and now we’re here! Doing life with my two best friends by my side is never dull and it’s always exciting and full of surprises.

On a lighter, not so serious note, here’s more about me as a person. My favorite animals are whales! My birthday is October 2nd, so send me all the presents thank you. My favorite color is green—but not lime green. I like mint green and evergreen. New York City is my favorite place on this earth. My go to drinks are caffeine free Coke Zero, decaf iced caramel macchiato w extra caramel syrup, or iced guava white tea lemonade. My favorite food is anything Italian. And I really love Chick-fil-A and I wish they’d bring back their watermelon mint lemonades. When I grow up, I really want to have a boxer puppy. I am a bookworm and firmly believe one can never own too many books.

MIRANDA

KARALEE

What’s up guys? I am KaraLee Langford, a very adventurous, caffeine addicted, annoyingly loyal journalist! I have traveled to places like Italy, Roatan Honduras, Peru and many more places with the intention of one day visiting every part of the world! I am currently a Journalism major at the University of Oklahoma with a minor in Entrepreneurship. However, my educational journey hasn’t been a smooth one!

For 18 years of my life, I was a part of a religious cult. As a woman, college wasn’t an option for me. My destiny was to be a wife and mother, to serve my husband, no questions asked. I was taught by the cult that as a woman, my opinions didn’t matter and I had no voice to speak out against anything or anyone. This is why I am so passionate about Journalism. My desire is to give those a voice who don’t have the courage to stand for themselves!

Originally, my college education began at Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC). There, I stumbled upon journalism by accident and was quickly swept into the hustle of the College’s student newspaper, The Pioneer. I began writing for The Pioneer as a reporter. My second semester, I was asked to be the Senior Writer, and my third and final semester at OCCC, I was the Editor! During my semester as Editor, I met Lauren and Miranda and watched as they brilliantly used The Pioneer to create a brand for themselves. Now, I am honored and thrilled to be apart of their team on the Let Me Know Show!
